Comprised of 215 lots, the auction certainly surprised me with unique pieces such as a carnelian, diamond and gold bangle bracelet terminating with carved carnelian boodle heads by David Webb (est. $8,000 – $12,000), a unique ‘Kissing Blackamoor’ brooch by Verdura (est. $40,000 – $60,000), a jade bead necklace suspending a gem-set plaque depicting a samouraï by Lacloche (est. $25,000 – $30,000), and a striking pair of gold and enamel bracelets, circa 1960s, by Mila Schön (est. $5,000 – $8,000).

Other highlights sure to incite a bidding war or two include a 10.54-carat rectangular cut diamond of D color and VVS2 clarity (est. $1,000,000 – $1,500,000), a natural pearl and diamond longchain necklace (est. $65,000 – $75,000), a 10.16-carat Fancy Intense yellow diamond ring (est. $300,000 – $400,000), and an important 13.21-carat unheated Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring (est. $100,000 – $140,000).

Contemporary creations from Enigma, Margherita Burgener Marina B. are refreshingly mixed with a selection of unique jewels from the likes of Buccellati, Boucheron, Cartier, Chaumet, David Webb, Grima, Mauboussin, Sterlé and Van Cleef & Arpels. Mid-century pieces, from the 1960s and 70s, are well-represented in the sale as well. Overall, this auction is on the smaller side, but what it lacks in quantity it surely makes up for in quality.

I absolutely love your blog. However, it is like going to a wonderful jewelry museum every day and every once in a while a girl needs to buy a jewel. Any chance you could display some affordable, yet good pieces? It would be so much fun to think that I could actually own and wear a piece.
