Tomorrow, I’m trading snowmen for sandcastles, winter boots for bikinis – off to Miami I go for the Original Miami Beach Antique Show! Considered the world’s largest indoor antique show, this annual event brings together nearly 1,000 dealers from around the globe to trade in precious antiques, most importantly antique jewelry. The show opens this Friday, January 30th, and runs until February 3rd at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
While I was unable to attend last year, this year will be my second visit and I cannot wait to get down to the Sunshine State – keyword being ‘sunshine’. During my week there, I’ll be sure to share some great finds and true treasures for which this show is best known. Many dealers in the trade travel far and wide to scour countless bins and cases in the hopes of discovering interesting pieces not seen on the market for years or bargain deals on salable signed pieces.
I’ll be helping out Excalibur and Betteridge at Booth 2201, so come say ‘hi’ if you’re attending the show! In light of my upcoming trip and jewelry scavenger hunt, here are some of the latest antique jewels from some of the dealers who will be at the show in Miami.
