Just in time for the holidays, Nadia Morgenthaler recently unveiled some of her newest additions to her Precious and Poetic jewelry collection. Since launching her own line nearly two years ago, the exceedingly talented Swiss designer has dazzled the world of jewelry with her ethereal jewels.
Morgenthaler expertly entwines her distinct aesthetic with the exacting technique exercised by only a handful of today’s jewelry artisans. Feminine with a hint of modernity, her jewels evoke the elegance of a lady with softened contours and tempered tones. Each gem fulfills a specific shape necessitated by the design, resulting in uniquely cut stones that are a far cry from the conventional. Inherently ladylike, natural pearls in shades that range from the rosiest pinks to orbs of soft gold, exquisite gems of muted color palettes and darkened metal settings effect a poetic airiness to Morgenthaler’s designs.
Morgenthaler’s latest creations will take center stage this week at her showroom and workshop in Geneva as the designer celebrates the space’s final days before moving to a new location in 2016. Here is an exclusive look at some of her newest pieces:
This pendant required 310 hours of working by hand to set the piece’s 746 diamonds, 114 natural pearls and 3,960 small metal links.
Another sophisticated design, this pair of earrings is set with 722 diamonds and six moonstones weighing a combined total of 33.52-carats. Over 180 hours of meticulous hand crafting went into creating these exceptional earrings.
Requiring 130 hours of work to create the suppleness of the design, these earrings feature 10.23 carats of blue-gray spinels, 236 diamonds and 32 natural pearls that brighten the moody hues of the sparkling stones.
The following ring features a 10.22-carat spinel finely accented by pearls and diamonds. The ring is currently part of the collection at FD Gallery in New York, where Morgenthaler’s jewelry is carried in addition to her own Geneva showroom.
Of a delicate design, this ring deftly balances an icy spinel with a rosy-sheen pearl.
